About The Position

The primary purpose of this position is to supervise the administration of the police/security department for the facility and act as a fully certified law enforcement officer with powers of arrest to investigate and enforce all state criminal and traffic laws, NC mental health laws, and facility policies providing for the safety and protection of the residents, employees, visitors, and monitoring the facilities and grounds on a 24-hour per-day basis. In addition, this position will act as a department liaison with area, state and federal law enforcement agencies/departments, and directs the activities of all other officers of the facility. Longleaf Neuro-Medical Treatment Center (LNMTC), located in Wilson, NC, is a state-operated certified Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF). With a staff of about 520, LNMTC provides support to approximately 200 residents with complex medical needs and/or co-existing neuro-cognitive disorders. THIS POSITION IS DESIGNATED MANDATORY AND MUST REPORT OR STAY OVER DURING ADVERSE WEATHEREVENTS OR OTHER EMERGENCIES.

Requirements

  • High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and four years of experience in law enforcement work, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Certification as a Law Enforcement Officer in accordance with the provisions of the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Commission.
