About The Position

The Chandler Police Department is now accepting applications for the position of Police Commander. This position has full responsibility to plan, supervise and review the activities of all personnel assigned to a division of the Police Department. The work is performed under the direct supervision of the Police Chief or Assistant Chief, but considerable latitude is granted for the exercise of independent judgment and initiative. Supervision is exercised over the work of employees in the class of Police Lieutenants, Police Sergeants, Police Officers and other non-sworn support personnel.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in a job-related field
• At least five (5) years of experience at the rank of Police Lieutenant, or higher, with a law enforcement agency with 100 or more sworn personnel
• AZPOST Certification
• Valid Arizona Driver's License with acceptable driving record

Responsibilities

• Plan, supervise and review the activities of all personnel assigned to a division of the Police Department.
• Exercise supervision over the work of employees in the class of Police Lieutenants, Police Sergeants, Police Officers and other non-sworn support personnel.
