About The Position

Ravenscroft is seeking a knowledgeable and safety-focused Pole Vault Coach to support the Track & Field program. This is a seasonal, part-time position providing technical instruction, supervision, and mentorship to student-athletes participating in the pole vault. This role is ideal for a coach who is passionate about the pole vault event, committed to athlete safety, and excited to build a positive, competitive team culture within Ravenscroft's Track & Field program.

Requirements

• Demonstrated knowledge of pole vault technique and safety standards
• Experience coaching or competing in pole vault
• Ability to work effectively with high school–aged students
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Must meet all district and state coaching certification requirements
• Successful completion of background check and required trainings

Nice To Haves

• Prior coaching experience at the high school or collegiate level
• Certification in pole vault safety or event-specific training
• CPR/First Aid certification
• Experience in strength and conditioning principles relevant to pole vault

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement progressive training plans for pole vault athletes
• Provide technical instruction on approach, plant, takeoff, swing, and bar clearance
• Ensure strict adherence to all safety protocols, equipment standards, and facility guidelines
• Supervise student-athletes during practices, competitions, and team activities
• Collaborate with the Head Coach to support overall program goals
• Maintain vaulting equipment and coordinate with staff for repairs or replacements
• Promote positive sportsmanship, academic responsibility, and team culture
• Communicate effectively with athletes, families, and school staff
• Attend all scheduled practices, meets, and required meetings
