About The Position

The Poker Supervisor is responsible for maintaining the integrity of all games consistent with Company procedures, overseeing daily Poker operations, and supervising Poker Section personnel. This role involves ensuring games run smoothly, enforcing gaming disputes and decisions, training, evaluating, and scheduling floor staff, and monitoring their performance in customer service and policy enforcement. The supervisor also documents unusual situations, communicates with management, assists in employee relations and promotions, provides excellent customer service, and ensures compliance with currency transaction reporting policies. Additionally, the role requires keeping the assigned section safe and orderly and performing other assigned duties by Casino Management.

Requirements

  • 2-3 years of experience in casino gaming operations.
  • Bachelors in Management or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • A casino work permit from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
  • Must obtain and maintain a Key Employee License from the Bureau of Gambling Control.
  • Must have knowledge of Casino gaming rules and operation.
  • Able to monitor and supervise employees of all levels.
  • Must have general knowledge in Federal and State Gaming Laws as well as in Marketing.
  • Must understand and be able to enforce Company and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Must be an ethical decision maker, self-motivated, able to resolve conflicts, and have effective communication skills with all levels of employees/patrons.
  • Must demonstrate positive/enthusiastic approach to all assignments.
  • Attendance and punctuality are an essential function of the position.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains integrity of all Games consistent with Company procedures.
  • Understands and is responsible for department and Company policy and procedure pertaining to all games.
  • Establishes that games are running smoothly and enforce gaming disputes and decisions in assigned gaming areas.
  • Oversees daily Poker operations; including but not limited to starting, combining, and breaking games.
  • Oversees Poker Section personnel, including training, evaluating, disciplining and scheduling assignments for all assigned Poker Section floor staff.
  • Monitors floor staff’s performance in responding to customers’ needs.
  • Monitors floor staff’s performance in enforcing and following established policies and procedures pertaining to Poker games.
  • Documents any “out of the ordinary” situations dealing with either customers or employees.
  • Maintains communication with the Shift Manager and other floor personnel regarding personnel or any unusual activities on the floor.
  • Assists and participates in employee relations programs and promotions, as well as customer marketing efforts and special events.
  • Provides excellent customer service consistent with company standards and procedures established by the management, or as discussed in departmental meetings.
  • Understands and complies with Commerce Casino’s Currency Transaction Reporting Policy and Procedures.
  • Responsible for keeping assigned section safe and orderly.
  • Performs all other work-related duties as assigned by the Casino Management.
