SUMMARY Responsible for the efficient operation of the poker room. Maintains the integrity of the poker wait list; makes accurate and clear chip and cash transactions; and adheres to all company and department policies and procedures; West Virginia Lottery Commission regulations; and in accordance with Internal Controls.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Comfort using computer-based systems for data entry and communication.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
  • Must have the ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; effectively communicate and present information and respond to questions from supervisors, managers, fellow employees and/or the general public.
  • Ability to accurately calculate figures and amounts and perform mathematical functions applicable to business needs.
  • Ability to interpret and follow through on a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
  • Must obtain licensing with the West Virginia Lottery and Racing Commissions every year of employment as required by our regulators.
  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.
  • Flexible to work all shifts including holidays, nights, weekend hours and overtime as business needs dictate.
  • Speaks clearly and politely; responds well to questions; and, contributes to building a positive team spirit.
  • Must be diplomatic and tactful.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Greet players and manage the poker waitlist
  • Seat guest into games quickly and accurately
  • Start and maintain poker games based on demand
  • Track players using the table management system
  • Assist supervisors and dealers to keep tables running efficiently
  • Explain promotions, rules, tournament information, and answer player questions
  • Execute cash to chip transactions with guests and facilitate table fills
  • Enthusiastically supports, actively promotes and demonstrates superior customer service in accordance with department and company standards and programs
  • Ensures behavior and appearance are in compliance with established standards
  • Maintains a professional work environment with management and staff
  • Maintains complete confidentiality of all company information at all times
  • Participates in meetings and training as required
  • Performs all job duties in a safe and responsible manner and reports safety hazards immediately
  • Performs other duties as may be assigned by department and/or company management
