About The Position

The Poker Dealer is responsible for mechanically dealing a Poker game proficiently, adhering to company policies, procedures, and gaming regulations. This role involves handling guest transactions, managing gaming chips, collecting rake, and distributing winning pots accurately. The dealer must maintain Rivers Casino's guest service standards, promote outstanding guest relations, and enforce the rules of the game. Additionally, they are responsible for notifying supervisors of any irregularities, disputes, or arguments and adhering to the Illinois Gaming Board's Statewide Voluntary Self-Exclusion Program.

Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Must possess excellent customer relations and communication skills.
  • Must be able to get along with co-workers and work as a team.
  • Available to work flexible shifts, weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain all necessary licensing.
  • Regularly required to sit for extended periods of time, see, walk, talk, and hear; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
  • Must be able to identify colors.
  • Able to work with others while maintaining a positive and professional demeanor.
  • Must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Performs the act of mechanically dealing a Poker game in a proficient manner, according to current company policies and procedures and applicable gaming regulations.
  • Responsible for handling guest transactions and notifying Poker Room Supervisor of any irregularities while advising a Poker Room Supervisor, or Poker Room Shift Manager of any disputes or arguments that may arise during the game among players/Poker Dealers.
  • Manages gaming chips, collects rake and distributes winning pots according to approved ICS in an accurate manner.
  • Supports and maintains the Rivers Casino -- Des Plaines guest service standards at all times while promoting outstanding guest relations and enforcing rules of the game.
  • Performs other duties requested or assigned.
  • Perform the duties and responsibilities associated with the Illinois Gaming Board Statewide Voluntary Self-Exclusion Program as described in Section A of the Rivers Casino -- Des Plaines ICS.
