About The Position
The Poison Control Specialist provides clinical information and treatment recommendations regarding toxic or potentially toxic exposures to healthcare providers and the public throughout the Arkansas Poison and Drug Information Center (APDIC) service region. This position also provides medication-related information, supports poison prevention education efforts, and assists with clinical documentation and follow-up activities within a fast-paced, 24/7 call center environment.
Requirements
- Current Arkansas RN license
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Basic computer proficiency
- Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment

- Emergency Department (ED), Poison Control, or Critical Care experience
Responsibilities
- Provide information, triage, and treatment recommendations regarding toxic or potentially toxic exposures to healthcare providers and the public
- Document and maintain accurate electronic medical records related to poison exposure inquiries
- Educate callers on toxic substances, medications, and poison prevention practices
- Assist in the education and instruction of professional students and residents
- Perform other duties as assigned
