Point of Care Educator

About The Position

The Point of Care Educator is responsible to develop, conduct and evaluate training of moderate and waived complexity testing, which includes the collection of quality samples. The POC Educator shares responsibility with the Ancillary Testing Manager to interpret and review the policies and procedures. The POC Educator serves as a resource to clinicians, educators and management for regulatory requirements, scheduling training, and identifying Point of Care Testing (POCT) educational needs of staff. Work situations require moderate problem solving and analytical skills. This position is an intermediate-level position, working under limited supervision.

Requirements

Four (4) years combined relevant teaching and experience in area of expertise
Must have access to a reliable vehicle
Current Washington Drivers License
Proof of a safe driving record (which meets established MHS Standards) obtained by a motor vehicle report from the appropriate state
Clinical Laboratory experience: including test performance, quality control procedures and documentation, and specimen collection including capillary and venipuncture

Nice To Haves

Associates degree in related health care field, or the equivalent in Applied Technology or Science preferred
Bachelor of Science preferred
Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT), Medical Technologist (MT, or MLS (ASCP) preferred
