About The Position
An established outpatient clinic in Rockland County, NY is seeking an experienced Podiatrist to provide preventative care, diagnosis, and treatment of a wide range of problems affecting the feet, ankle, and lower legs.
Requirements
- Must be fully licensed to practice in the state of NY
- Board certified
- DPM Degree
- DEA certificate
- 2 + years of experience as a Podiatrist
- Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely
- Excellent bedside manner, empathy, and patience
- Up-to-date knowledge of latest technologies and treatments in Podiatry
Responsibilities
- Diagnoses, treats, or prescribes treatment of the foot, ankle, and other related structures using medical histories, physical examinations, x-rays, and laboratory test results.
- Prescribes medications, corrective devices, physical therapy, or surgery and sets fractures.
- Administers medications and local anesthetics.
- Orders additional medical tests (like X-rays, ultrasounds etc.) to form a better diagnosis if necessary.
- Refers patients to other physicians or specialists for consultation in an inter-professional manner.
- Advises patients about treatments and foot care techniques to prevent future problems.
- Completes clinical notes within a timely fashion for each patient visit.
- Displays a positive, professional, and respectful demeanor at all times toward fellow staff members, peers, professional contacts, and patients served.
