Podcast Production Student Assistant
About The Position
The Forestry & Natural Resources Extension Podcast Team is seeking a part-time production assistant for our Podcast, In the Woods (intothewoodspodcast.com). "In the Woods" is a podcast series brought to you by the Oregon State University Forestry & Natural Resources Extension program. This podcast brings the forest to listeners by sharing the stories and interviews of forest scientists, land managers, and enthusiastic members of the public. Each month, it provides research- and science-based information on a new topic related to forests, offering insight into what we know and are still learning about forest science and management. The program assistant will help edit, post, and advertise the In the Woods podcast. This position is in the Forestry and Natural Resources Extension Program in Oregon State University’s College of Forestry.
Requirements
- Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study
- Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment
- Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard
- Demonstrated experience editing audio and closed captions
- Demonstrated experience editing graphics
- Demonstrated experience with podcasts
Nice To Haves
- Experience with OSU Branding
- Experience using Dscript audio editing
- Experience with YouTube and advertising on social media.
Responsibilities
- Audio recording and editing
- Posting podcasts to various RSS feeds and YouTube.
- Editing closed captions.
- Creating simple graphics for social media.
- OSU Extension and Blog website editing.
