About The Position

Builders Supply is the Midwest’s largest independently owned lumberyard, owned 100% by its employees. For more than 70 years, Builders Supply has provided service to contractors and the public for all of their commercial and residential building needs. This role involves repairing, rebuilding, and maintaining pneumatic tools to industry standards. The technician will also receive orders from customers, answer phones, enter data into the computer, and provide exceptional customer service. Maintaining a safe and clean work environment and assisting with deliveries are also key aspects of the position.

Requirements

• Experience working on small tools is helpful.
• Ability to diagnose and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Valid operator's license.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Must be at least 21 years old to drive a company vehicle.
• Clean motor vehicle record.
• Capable of operating a manual transmission vehicle.
• Must be able to pass pre-employment testing (physical, drug test, and lifting test).
• Physical ability to perform tasks that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary to perform job duties.
• Minimally must be able to lift >50 pounds without assistance.

• Bilingual (Spanish) is very helpful.

Responsibilities

• Perform major and minor repairs on pneumatic tools.
• Refurbish tools: tear down, inspect, repair, and clean.
• Respond to customer inquiries, provide quotes, and take customer orders.
• Maintain a maintenance log to document time and supplies for accurate billing.
• Practice good shop-keeping, keeping work areas clean and hazard-free.
• Deliver tools and supplies to customer job sites.
• Assist with inventory, moving materials with a forklift and by hand.
• Perform any other responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
