About The Position

Deschutes Brewery is seeking a PMO (Project Management Office) Manager to join their team in Bend, Oregon. The PMO Manager will be responsible for leading and developing the Project Management team, establishing best practice standards and tools, and fostering a project management culture to ensure the successful execution of all managed projects. The company is an independent craft brewery with a national presence and a growing non-alcoholic portfolio, emphasizing innovation, quality, and bringing people together.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in Business, Communication, Project Management or another related field and a minimum of 5 years' project management experience; or equivalent combination of experience, education and/or training.
  • Project Management certification (PMP)
  • Previous experience with developing and growing a project management team and culture within an organization.
  • Exceptional leadership skills with proven experience managing multiple high level, strategic business initiatives and projects.
  • Ability to think strategically, while maintaining and managing the details of a project.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to effectively reach consensus with diverse teams.
  • Demonstrated comfort level working with senior leadership to understand business needs, priorities, and complexities.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in Business Administration or related field preferred

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement an overall project management strategy and roadmap for the company.
  • Lead the team of project managers, providing coaching, counseling, and development, and educating them on project management resources, standards, procedures, processes, and policies.
  • Champion the company project management methodology, tools, and techniques.
  • Ensure quality standards and the production of expected deliverables during all phases of the project life cycle (initiating, planning, executing, controlling, and closing).
  • Demonstrate strong leadership and judgment for the execution of simultaneous large-scale initiatives and projects aligned with key business strategies, including establishing complex project plans, identifying risks, creating contingency plans, and driving cross-functional project execution.
  • Manage projects/intake requests, ensuring integration with other business priorities and projects, resource availability, and timely delivery. Escalate issues related to resource shortages and assist in finding alternative resources.
  • Facilitate the portfolio and capital funding process, tracking status and completion.
  • Plan and facilitate the strategic planning process and related activities, and develop and manage strategic planning documents.
  • Develop written strategic initiative updates, progress reports, risk assessments, and decision logs, including initiative tracking, presentation slides, status updates, communication materials, and talking points. Collaborate with departments to develop operational plans and metrics aligned with company strategic initiatives.
  • Lead the project/capital budgeting process to ensure proper project scoping, budget development, and clear articulation of ROI, safety, and quality impacts. Present annually to senior staff on capital projects and their outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain the Corporate Scorecard.
  • Create executive presentations for stakeholder communications, providing clear and concise communication to various audiences.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
