About The Position

As part of Baker Tilly’s Managed Services offering, the Accounting & Finance Services (AFS) Transitions team helps new clients stabilize financial operations, establish effective governance, implement scalable processes, and prepare for successful delivery by recurring service teams. The team leads project-based transition work across multiple functional workstreams, coordinating internal resources, client stakeholders, technology, reporting, operational readiness, and delivery milestones. We’re seeking a Transitions Manager to lead internal PMO operations and complex client transition programs. This role is approximately 50% focused on internal operations and PMO management and 50% focused on serving as the client PMO lead for multi-workstream projects. The Transitions Manager will establish governance, manage integrated project plans, develop operational KPIs, facilitate data capture, produce monthly reporting, and help ensure transitions are delivered successfully from kickoff through stabilization and handoff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Technology, Operations, Project Management, or a related field preferred
  • Five (5)+ years of experience in PMO, project management, program management, transition management, service delivery, or a related discipline
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex, multi-workstream projects or programs
  • Experience working in both internal PMO operations and client-facing project delivery environments
  • Experience developing operational KPIs, dashboards, management reports, trend analyses, and repeatable data-capture processes across teams, systems, or workstreams
  • Strong knowledge of project governance, integrated planning, risk and issue management, change control, and executive reporting
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, stakeholders, dependencies, and deadlines in a matrixed environment
  • Strong facilitation, analytical, problem-solving, communication, executive-level presentation, and stakeholder-management skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Jira, Salesforce, Dayshape or a comparable resource-management platform, and Workday preferred
  • Experience with data visualization, resource planning, financial tracking, utilization reporting, or demand forecasting preferred
  • Experience in managed services, professional services, consulting, outsourcing, accounting and finance operations, or technology-enabled transformation preferred
  • Project or service management certifications, including PMP, Scrum, SAFe, or ITIL, are preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the client-facing PMO lead for complex, multi-workstream transition projects
  • Lead transition programs from kickoff through operational readiness, stabilization, and handoff to recurring service teams
  • Manage project scope, timelines, milestones, budgets, deliverables, dependencies, risks, issues, actions, and decisions
  • Develop and maintain integrated project plans across client, internal, vendor, technology, and operational workstreams
  • Establish project governance, meeting cadences, reporting requirements, decision forums, escalation paths, and stakeholder communications
  • Coordinate activities across client stakeholders, internal delivery teams, functional leaders, third parties, and subject matter experts
  • Streamline and manage internal PMO processes, templates, standards, controls, and operating rhythms
  • Develop and manage operational KPIs, including performance measures, calculation methods, data sources, reporting thresholds, ownership, and accountability
  • Maintain reliable PMO data by capturing, consolidating, validating, and monitoring project, operational, resource, financial, and KPI information across systems
  • Produce monthly operational reporting, including portfolio dashboards, KPI scorecards, trend analyses, and executive-level summaries
  • Manage portfolio visibility, resource demand, capacity planning, staffing coordination, utilization tracking, and assignment management across transition projects
  • Drive consistent adoption of PMO tools, governance requirements, KPI standards, and reporting processes
  • Identify risks, resolve issues, escalate barriers, analyze performance trends, and drive continuous improvement across the transition portfolio
  • Maintain transition playbooks, lessons learned, reusable assets, and knowledge-management materials
