About The Position

Solon is seeking an experienced Finance & Accounting (F&A) Manager to play a key role in supporting accounting, financial planning and analysis, management reporting, cash-flow management and financial compliance across Solon and its portfolio companies. The F&A Manager will lead the Lahore-based finance and accounting team while coordinating closely with finance colleagues, senior management, and country and project teams based primarily in North America, Europe and Sub-Saharan Africa. The F&A Manager will ensure that management has access to accurate, timely and forward-looking financial information to support effective decision-making. Combining financial planning and analysis with hands-on financial management and team supervision, the successful candidate will develop forecasts and financial models, strengthen reporting and internal controls, monitor project finances, and coordinate financial reporting for management, investors, boards and other external stakeholders.

Requirements

  • A recognized professional accounting or finance qualification such as ACCA, ACA, CPA, CIMA, MBA or an equivalent qualification.
  • A minimum of 4–6 years of relevant experience in financial management, FP&A, management reporting, corporate finance or a related area ideally in senior role.
  • Strong experience preparing budgets, forecasts, cash-flow models and management reports.
  • Experience producing financial information for senior management, boards, investors or institutional funders.
  • Good understanding of internal controls, statutory reporting, audit and financial compliance.
  • Experience working across multiple projects, entities, countries or geographically distributed teams.
  • Advanced Excel and financial-modelling skills.
  • Experience using accounting, budgeting or reporting systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in climate finance, carbon markets, project finance, international development, conservation or operations in Africa would be advantageous.
  • French-language capability would be advantageous but is not essential.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the annual budgeting process, including inputs from country, project and functional teams.
  • Prepare periodic forecasts and longer-term financial plans based on operational priorities and anticipated funding requirements.
  • Analyze actual financial performance against budgets and forecasts, clearly explaining significant variances.
  • Monitor cash balances, expected receipts, expenditure commitments and future funding requirements.
  • Coordinate the planning of funding drawdowns, project expenditures and other significant financial commitments.
  • Maintain appropriate visibility over cash requirements across projects, entities and operating locations.
  • Manage the preparation of accurate and timely monthly management accounts and reporting packs.
  • Prepare or review financial reports required by investors, institutional funders and other external stakeholders.
  • Ensure that information presented to management and external stakeholders is accurate, consistent and supported by appropriate records.
  • Manage and continuously improve financial policies, internal controls, approval processes and delegated authorities.
  • Coordinate statutory reporting, tax compliance, audits and other regulatory requirements, working with external advisers as required.
  • Maintain a clear calendar of financial, statutory, audit and investor-reporting deadlines.
