PMO Lead, Operations

About The Position

Amprius Technologies is seeking a PMO Lead to establish a centralized view of all cross-functional workstreams within Operations, including cell transfers to contract manufacturers, contract manufacturer qualifications, certifications, and facility projects. This role involves setting up the PMO from the ground up, leading the rollout of a Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system, and implementing engineering change control processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, operations, or a related field.
  • 8+ years in program or project management for hardware products.
  • Experience building or leading a PMO.
  • Hands-on experience implementing or running a PLM system (e.g., Arena, Windchill, Teamcenter, Propel) and engineering change control.
  • Strong scheduling and risk management skills (MS Project, Smartsheet, or similar).
  • Ability to lead without direct authority across engineering, supply chain, quality, and external partners.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in batteries, energy storage, semiconductors, or aerospace manufacturing.
  • Experience with programs that use contract manufacturers.
  • PMP or PgMP certification.

Responsibilities

  • Build the PMO, including writing and getting approval for the PMO charter and program charters.
  • Build and maintain an integrated master schedule for all active Operations workstreams.
  • Manage the governance cadence, including weekly status reviews and monthly executive reviews.
  • Set up and manage a single RAID log (risks, actions, issues, decisions) for all workstreams.
  • Select and set up PM tooling, templates, and reporting dashboards.
  • Lead the PLM program, including consultant and system selection, implementation plan, budget, and kickoff.
  • Migrate production BOMs (cells, materials, and CM-specific BOMs) into PLM.
  • Design and roll out the change control process (ECR → ECO → ECN) across R&D, Operations, CMs, and suppliers.
  • Ensure every BOM part is linked to the approved vendor list.
  • Drive milestone delivery, escalate risks early, and assist teams in resolving cross-functional dependencies.
  • Coach program managers and functional leads on planning discipline.
