About The Position

The PMO Director will be managing a PMO of approximately 30-35. This primarily includes Project Managers, but also Business Analysts and Product Managers. Therefore, PMO Director experience at an enterprise level is required. They will work on continuing to grow the PMO, particularly in the BA space. The Director IT Project Management is responsible for the management and oversight of an IT Project Management Office (PMO) and the portfolio of IT projects for the organization. The IT PMO Director develops and implements PMO processes and policies, directs project management staff, and works with other department leaders and key stakeholders to define, prioritize, and develop projects and programs. They direct and oversee the Project Management Office (PMO) to ensure IT programs and projects meet organization goals and requirements. Additionally, the IT PMO Director is responsible and accountable for the selection and implementation of tools to be used to organize and report on project work. The incumbent will develop, implement, and refine the intake and prioritization processes necessary for the efficient and effective operations of the IT PMO, ensuring IT projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Requirements

  • PMO Director experience at an enterprise level is required.
  • Expert Level experience.

  • Agile/Scrum experience and/or certifications is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Leads the IT project management team in the efficient and effective delivery of IT PMO services (governance decision making, benefits realization, intake and estimation, portfolio management, and resource management) to the organization.
  • Utilizes a deep understanding of technical environments in a multi-organizational matrixed environment and working knowledge of application functionality in a healthcare environment.
  • Identifies and recommends applicable technology, as appropriate, by listening to and working with multiple entities and departments.
  • Apprises supervisor and CIO of status of project portfolio on a regular basis (weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly).
  • Develops project portfolio statuses aimed at communicating the overall health of the IT project portfolio to numerous audiences both at a tactical and strategic level.
