About The Position

This opportunity is with a leading provider of mission-critical data center solutions as a Managed Services Provider as an Owner's Rep for Construction Services. This firm provides a complete life cycle of solutions that are custom-fit to the requirements of their client's mission-critical facilities. They retrofit and help build mission-critical facilities for data center facilities nationwide for Enterprise, Colocation and Hyperscale Companies. We are looking for a Data Center Construction Project Manager / PX level to support the PMO supporting critical facility construction projects. The Construction PMO will be responsible for all aspects of managing and oversight of data center construction projects, upgrades and retrofits in a production environment and act on the Owner's behalf. This will include providing leadership / guidance to the Project Managers on the team, the contractors / vendors associated with the delivery of company projects. The candidate will have overall responsibility for the delivery of assigned projects following company standards / help implement company standards that are on budget / on time; assurance that the project scope and quality meet Company Design Standards and the objectives set for the project. The successful candidate will have to be exceptionally organized and be great with back office work (change orders, budgets, paperwork driven, etc.), have PMO exp and possess a PMP.

Requirements

  • Experience managing Data Center Construction Projects as an Owner or as a General Contractor / GC / Trade
  • Previous experience managing a diverse team of high level construction project managers on multi-million dollar projects
  • Previous experience managing a Project Management Office / PMO
  • Minimum of 8-15+ years relevant experience in the Data Center Construction Industry
  • data center / critical facilities MEP construction experience
  • Client Facing /Client relationship / Client Management skills
  • Familiar with the design process of building systems for data center and mission critical projects
  • Solid Construction Project Management experience
  • Effective Communicator – emails, phone and face to face
  • Ability to work independently
  • Solid Admin skills: such as email, internet, and Microsoft products (e.g., Word, Excel, Office, Outlook, PowerPoint, MS Project, etc.)

Nice To Haves

  • PMP Certification a plus
  • Previous experience in the Military / Military Veterans from all branches a huge plus!
  • Experience with Electrical / Mechanical: Navy nukes - EMN, ETN, MMNs, Seabees, Army - Power Generation, Air Force – Power Production, Generator Techs, Maritime, Coast Guard, Army National Guard, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain liaison with project managers that oversee project's day to day activities that impact the delivery of company’s critical facilities construction projects
  • Oversee a team of project managers that manage individual projects such as greenfields, brownfields, upgrades, or retrofits within the overall project portfolio and provide guidance and direction to the team
  • Create overall project guidelines that will standardize processes throughout the organization
  • Drive Company Standards uniformly as it regards to Project Delivery by all project participants on all projects
  • Solid Project management construction experience; experience managing teams of Construction Professionals, including PMs and Superintendents
  • Experience managing Data Center Construction Projects with Budgets
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Assist the Senior Project Manager in negotiating contracts with vendors as necessary.
  • Responsible for creating and managing project schedules
  • Put together Project plans – size up, costs, budget, scheduling, timeline, manage change orders, etc
  • Support the delivery of Built to Suit projects with a heavy emphasis on value-engineering
  • Manage financial aspects of contracts (progress billing, rental equipment, income / expenses) to protect the company’s interest and simultaneously maintain good relationship with the client
  • Represent the company in project meetings
  • Act as key Liaison with managers of all company departments
  • Maintain all logs required to track the progress of the project
  • Possess a network within the mission critical data center facilities market
  • Background in Critical Facilities Design, Architecture, Engineering and Construction Services
