About The Position

The Client Executive Team Leader is responsible for leading a team of Client Executives focused on delivering exceptional, differentiated client experiences across Payments relationships. This role provides leadership, coaching, governance, and execution oversight to ensure clients receive consistent, proactive, and trusted advisory support across U.S. Bank’s payments, treasury, merchant, commercial card, liquidity, receivables, and trade capabilities. The Manager serves as a senior relationship and execution leader, accountable for team performance, client satisfaction, relationship health, disciplined follow-through, and cross-functional coordination. This role partners closely with Sales, Product, Risk, Compliance, Legal, Finance, Operations, and other internal stakeholders to ensure seamless delivery, responsible growth, strong controls, and sustained client loyalty. The primary objective of this role is to lead and enable a high-performing Client Executive team that strengthens client relationships, drives organic growth, improves client satisfaction, and reinforces U.S. Bank’s position as a trusted top-tier payments provider.

  • Requires strong experience supporting institutional or commercial clients, with broad cross-product understanding spanning Treasury Management Services, including Liquidity & Investments, Receivables, Payments, Commercial Cards, Merchant Services, and Trade.
  • Must understand risk management, governance, controls, regulatory expectations, and reputational risk considerations within a large financial institution.
  • The role requires the ability to balance client experience, relationship growth, operating discipline, risk awareness, and team performance.
  • Successful candidates will demonstrate strong executive presence, sound judgment, effective escalation management, and the ability to translate client needs into coordinated internal action.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and manage a team of Payment Solution Sales Client Executives responsible for key client relationships and end-to-end client experience.
  • Establish clear expectations, performance standards, and accountability for client coverage, relationship management, service quality, and disciplined execution.
  • Oversee the end-to-end client experience across assigned portfolios, ensuring consistent delivery, proactive engagement, and strong relationship health.
  • Provide guidance on complex client situations, escalations, service gaps, and relationship risks ensuring timely resolution and a high-quality client experience.
  • Support team members in building deep, long-term client relationships grounded in trust, responsiveness, strategic advice, and a strong understanding of client business objectives.
  • Ensure regular, structured client reviews are conducted to assess satisfaction, identify opportunities, address service concerns, and reinforce client loyalty.
  • Partner closely with Sales, Product, Trading, Operations, and Coverage teams to coordinate seamless client solutions across PMI and broader U.S. Bank capabilities.
  • Drive organic growth by helping the team identify and advance opportunities to deepen client relationships through thoughtful, needs-based cross-selling.
  • Monitor portfolio trends, client feedback, satisfaction indicators, and relationship health metrics to identify risks, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
  • Serve as an internal advocate for clients and the Client Executive team, ensuring feedback is translated into improvements in products, processes, service delivery, and operating discipline.
  • Promote disciplined execution and follow-through on client commitments, reinforcing consistency, reliability, and accountability across the team.
  • Maintain strong governance and risk awareness across all client activities, ensuring solutions are delivered responsibly and in alignment with U.S. Bank standards.
  • Collaborate closely with Legal, Compliance, Risk, Finance, and other control partners to ensure appropriate oversight, escalation, documentation, and control discipline.
  • Appropriately assess risk and reward in client engagements, with particular focus on protecting the firm’s reputation, maintaining client trust, and supporting long-term relationship value.
  • Support talent development, succession planning, performance management, onboarding, and continuous capability building across the Client Executive function.
  • Ensure team members adhere to all applicable policies, procedures, codes of conduct, and business line requirements relevant to the role.
  • Ensure required registrations, licenses, and training obligations are obtained and maintained within prescribed timeframes, as applicable.
  • Actively ensure compliance with the U.S. Bank Code of Ethics and all Anti-Money Laundering, Bank Secrecy Act, information security, suspicious activity reporting, and related policy requirements. Actively participate in required corporate and business line training and ensure team compliance in these areas. Understand and follow account opening procedures and internal suspicious activity referral requirements and processes, as required for the position.
