PMHNP/FNP – Detox Treatment Center
About The Position
Avenues Recovery Center is seeking an NP or PA to provide medical care, medication management, and clinical oversight in a detox and residential substance use disorder treatment setting. This role emphasizes patient stabilization, interdisciplinary collaboration, accurate documentation, and regulatory compliance, allowing clinicians to practice thoughtfully in a structured, supportive environment. Avenues Recovery Center at Denver is a 100-bed detox and inpatient substance use disorder treatment facility in a newly expanded space. Our continuously growing facility brings all medical and clinical services under one roof, supporting coordinated, patient-centered care in a behavioral health setting. Our 24/7 medical and clinical teams provide compassionate, dignified care focused on patient stabilization, safety, and recovery. The collaborative atmosphere, built by both staff and clients-creates a supportive environment where quality care and clinical integrity come first.
Requirements
- Active, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner (FNP, PMHNP) or Physician Assistant (PA-C) license in Colorado
- Active DEA registration
- Experience in substance use disorder treatment, behavioral health, psychiatry, or mental health (1+ year preferred)
- Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
Responsibilities
- Conduct medical assessments and develop individualized treatment plans
- Provide medical monitoring and medication management in detox and residential care
- Stabilize patients with substance use disorders to support engagement in treatment
- Order and review medications, labs, and urine drug screens (UDS)
- Document all medical care in the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Collaborate with medical, clinical, and utilization review (UR) teams
- Ensure compliance with state regulations, JCAHO, CARF, and ASAM standards
- Manage daily and weekly patient schedules efficiently
