About The Position

This is an unpaid preceptorship for students enrolled in an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program at the Masters or doctoral level. The student must be a licensed nurse (BSN) with psychiatric nursing experience and enrolled at an institution with an existing contract/affiliation agreement with Sheppard Pratt. The preceptorship is part of the continuum of care, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, and provides 1:1 supervision by a licensed Nurse Practitioner or physician. This is a strictly in-person, community-based learning experience.

Requirements

• Current Student of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program
• Masters or doctoral level student
• Student must be enrolled at an academic institution that has an existing contract/affiliation agreement with Sheppard Pratt.
• Must be a licensed nurse (BSN)
• Must have psychiatric nursing experience

Responsibilities

• Learn 1:1 from a licensed NP or physician.
• Be ready to learn from all experiences and patient populations.
• Demonstrate patience and compassion when working with this challenging patient population.
