About The Position

Empire Distributors Inc, a leading beverage distributor, is seeking a PM Warehouse Supervisor for its Nashville, TN location. This role involves overseeing night shift operations, directly supervising shipping and loading functions, and collaborating with day shift supervisors and the Inventory Control Team to ensure operational efficiency and inventory accuracy. The position requires utilizing SAP for inventory management and product handling, advising employees on proper inventory care and equipment handling, and ensuring all processes are conducted safely and efficiently. The supervisor will also be responsible for monitoring forklift operators, investigating inventory discrepancies, managing work procedures, and conducting employee training.

Requirements

  • Associates degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Forklift certification and other warehouse certifications as needed.
  • Some knowledge of warehouse software as well as basic Windows functions, i.e. SAP, KEA, Excel, and Word.

  • Train-the-trainer certifications preferred

Responsibilities

  • Supports the PM Warehouse Manager in overseeing all Night Shift Operations.
  • Directly supervises shipping functions to include but not limited to picking and loading operations; assists other areas of warehouse operations as needed.
  • Supervises the operational flow of all day shift activities by working directly with Area Lead and peer Supervisors.
  • Utilizes SAP in order to streamline product handling as well as in order to maintain inventory integrity & accuracy.
  • Collaborates with Day Warehouse Supervisors as well as Inventory Control Team in order to properly align departmental issues, concerns, and needs as it relates to warehouse Inventory, Operational readiness, and process flow control.
  • Advises and demonstrates to the employees the care and preservation of inventory items, equipment handling, storage and shipping merchandise, and related problems.
  • Reviews records for accuracy of information and compliance with established procedures, and to determine adequacy of replenishment levels.
  • Directs work for special and periodic inventories.
  • Ensures all actions and processes are performed in a safe and orderly manner.
  • Monitors safety of forklift operators and provides training and retraining as needed.
  • Traces history of items to determine reasons for discrepancies between inventory and stock control records and recommends remedial actions to resolve discrepancies.
  • Monitors the inventory returns from prior day business, and line checkers. Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow.
  • Issues written and oral instructions.
  • Conduct and record training classes with employees on all new and old procedures as needed.
  • Examines work for precision, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.
  • Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency for work quality.
  • Maintains harmony among workers and is the first person in the chain of command to resolve grievances.
  • Other duties as assigned by the PM Warehouse Manager.
