PM Warehouse Worker
About The Position
California Sierra Express has been in business for over 35 years. We operate six freight terminals in CA and one in Reno, NV. We're an overnight carrier that primarily serves international and domestic freight forwarders as a final mile Pick-Up and Delivery agent for shipments that travel from all over the globe by air, sea and land. You'll be joining a local team of over 30 people all committed to providing the best service possible to our customers who trust Cal Sierra to move their shipments on-time and without damage all throughout the greater Los Angeles. This is a safety sensitive position and falls under federal drug and alcohol regulations.
Requirements
- A minimum of 6 months experience unloading/loading in 53’ trailers in an LTL logistics environment.
- Minimum of 6 months of forklift experience.
- Ability to effectively communicate in English; verbally and in writing.
- Ability to demonstrate basic math skills such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and some division.
Nice To Haves
- Strong clerical and Inventory skills a plus.
- Valid Driver’s License, preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Responsibilities
- Consistent attendance Mon - Fri is mandatory.
- Operate a forklift safely when loading shipments in and out of trailers or staging and stacking in the warehouse.
- Comply with truck and cargo security requirements as outlined by the Transportation Safety Administration (TSA).
- Comply with safe work practices as required by the Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA)
- Comply with federal drug and alcohol regulations.
- Unloading/loading 53’ dry van trailers high and tight.
- Frequent lifting, pulling, pushing and carrying freight.
- Assist in-house drivers to load and off load freight.
- Receive and process inbound freight.
- Label pallets and boxes when received.
- Verify the documentation and condition of incoming shipments.
- Stage shipments in the proper area of the warehouse.
- Maintain a safe and clean warehouse and yard.
