About The Position

The Toolroom PM Technician is responsible for performing preventative maintenance on all Injection Molds in the facility. This role requires knowledge of general repair, hydraulic and electrical systems, and the ability to follow standard work and safety practices to perform routine maintenance activities. The technician will dismantle, inspect, adjust, repair, and install parts of molds using various tools, and may also repair or replace electrical equipment. Regular attendance, timeliness, and scheduling flexibility are essential.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of general repair, hydraulic and electrical.
  • Follow standard work and safety practices to perform routine maintenance activities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Ability to interact effectively with various levels in the organization.
  • Excellent verbal interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Good mechanical, electrical and controls skills.
  • "Self-starter" attitude.
  • Availability to work any shift and overtime.
  • Able to build cooperative relationships.
  • Proven successful work experience with fork trucks.
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without accommodation(s).
  • Microsoft Applications (general).
  • Use smart phone applications for maintenance work order systems.
  • General Knowledge of Machine Shop equipment.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent and training or certification in relevant skill or trade.
  • 1 - 2 years' experience in a relevant field.
  • Be exposed to temperature extremes inside or out.
  • Operate various assembly/manufacturing/repair tools.
  • Must be able to taste or smell.
  • Must be able to position self to maintain equipment including under equipment and in small spaces.
  • Be able to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Be exposed to sounds or noise levels that maybe uncomfortable.
  • Prolong standing or in stationary position for long periods of time.
  • Complete repetitive movements.
  • Bend or twist.
  • Wear all required personal protective equipment.
  • Lift/move/transport items up to 75 pounds.
  • Be in the position to move/traverse about inside site to access machinery, etc.
  • Ability to operate various assembly/manufacturing/repair tools.
  • Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles.
  • Should have strong hand-eye coordination.
  • Specific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth.
  • Sufficient physical reflexes and personal mobility.
  • Constantly operates machinery, positions, sets up, handles or tends to, modifies.
  • Work outside of normal business hours, occasionally on short notice.

  • Overhead Crane operation (Rigger II Training Provided).

Responsibilities

  • Performing preventative maintenance on all Injection Molds in the facility.
  • Complying with Westlake Safety Policies and Procedures.
  • Dismantling molds using hand tools and power tools.
  • Inspecting molds to determine changes in dimensional requirements, using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
  • Adjusting functional parts of devices and control instruments, using hand tools and power tools.
  • Repairing or replacing defective parts, using hand tools and power tools.
  • Installing interchangeable inserts in molds, using hand tools, power tools and Overhead Crane.
  • Lubricating and cleaning parts and inspecting.
  • Repairing or replacing electrical equipment.
  • Regular attendance, timeliness and scheduling flexibility.
