About The Position

As the PM Sanitation Supervisor, you will lead and oversee the nightly sanitation operations, ensuring all cleaning and food safety standards are consistently met in compliance with Hickman's Family Farms policies, USDA regulations, and all applicable food safety requirements. You will supervise, train, and support the sanitation team while promoting a culture of safety, accountability, and operational excellence. In this role, you will ensure all processing equipment, production areas, floors, and inedible containers are thoroughly cleaned, sanitized, inspected, and prepared to successfully pass USDA inspection for the next day's production. You will monitor compliance with sanitation procedures, chemical handling requirements, and Safety Data Sheets (SDS), while ensuring all team members adhere to company policies and safety protocols. The PM Sanitation Supervisor will also coordinate with Production, Maintenance, Quality Assurance, and USDA personnel to address sanitation needs, resolve issues efficiently, and maintain a clean, safe, and inspection-ready facility.

Requirements

  • Previous sanitation, janitorial, or industrial cleaning experience required.
  • Ability to lift 20 pounds or more repeatedly throughout the shift.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Frequent bending, squatting, kneeling, twisting, reaching, and climbing.
  • Ability to work in wet, humid, cold, and varying temperature environments.
  • Ability to safely handle sanitation chemicals while following all safety requirements.
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions throughout the workday.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
  • Experience in food manufacturing, agriculture, or USDA-regulated facilities strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of sanitation chemicals, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), GMPs, and food safety practices preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and direct the nightly sanitation team to ensure all assigned duties are completed efficiently and safely.
  • Assign daily work schedules and monitor completion of all sanitation tasks.
  • Train, coach, mentor, and evaluate sanitation employees.
  • Ensure compliance with USDA regulations, food safety standards, company policies, and sanitation procedures.
  • Monitor the proper use, storage, and handling of sanitation chemicals and personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Conduct inspections of equipment and production areas before releasing them for the next day's operations.
  • Communicate equipment concerns, maintenance needs, and sanitation issues promptly to Maintenance and Management.
  • Maintain sanitation records, inspection logs, chemical usage documentation, and other required reports.
  • Promote a positive, safe, and team-oriented work environment focused on continuous improvement.
  • Perform sanitation duties alongside team members as needed.
  • Ensure all processing equipment, production lines, floors, walls, drains, and work areas are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized.
  • Oversee the proper disassembly, cleaning, inspection, and reassembly of processing equipment.
  • Verify all sanitation tasks meet USDA and company food safety standards before production begins.
  • Ensure all sanitation procedures are performed according to Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and established safety protocols.
  • Coordinate with Production, Quality Assurance, and Maintenance departments to address sanitation-related issues.
  • Monitor inventory and proper storage of sanitation chemicals and supplies.
  • Identify opportunities to improve sanitation processes, efficiency, and employee performance.
