Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience in housekeeping, hotel service, or a related position is a plus.
  • Knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment, and supplies is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain high cleanliness standards in a variety of public spaces.
  • Ability to work efficiently and independently, managing time effectively to complete cleaning tasks in a timely manner.
  • Good communication skills to interact with guests and team members.
  • Ability to follow safety protocols and hotel procedures for cleaning and handling cleaning chemicals.
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 40 pounds (e.g., linens, cleaning equipment).
  • Frequent use of hands, fingers, and wrists for handling cleaning tools and operating equipment.
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment with exposure to cleaning chemicals and equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide turndown service in guest rooms by turning down the bed, fluffing pillows, and ensuring linens are clean and neatly arranged.
  • Replace used towels with fresh ones, ensuring that bathrooms are fully stocked with toiletries and amenities.
  • Replenish in-room supplies, including water bottles, coffee, and other guest amenities, to ensure the room is fully prepared for the evening.
  • Ensure that guest room lighting is adjusted to create a warm and inviting atmosphere for the evening.
  • Conduct a thorough inspection of guest rooms to ensure that they meet the hotel’s cleanliness and comfort standards.
  • Address any issues or requests from guests promptly, including extra pillows, blankets, or room amenities.
  • Report any maintenance or housekeeping issues (e.g., broken furniture, faulty lighting, or plumbing problems) to the appropriate department.
  • Respond to any guest requests related to turndown service or other in-room needs in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Communicate any guest preferences or requests to the housekeeping supervisor or management to ensure a personalized guest experience.
  • Ensure guests feel comfortable and welcome during turndown service, maintaining a polite, courteous, and professional demeanor.
  • Ensure that guest rooms are tidied and free of clutter during turndown service, making the room as inviting and relaxing as possible.
  • Fold and organize towels, robes, and any other guest items to ensure the room is neat and orderly.
  • Clean and sanitize surfaces as necessary, especially in bathrooms, ensuring a high level of hygiene and cleanliness.
  • Pay attention to special requests or preferences from guests, ensuring that any specific needs or instructions are addressed (e.g., extra pillows, preferred room temperature, etc.).
  • Assist with preparing rooms for a restful evening, including adjusting room temperature or arranging lighting, as needed.
  • Provide additional services such as bringing up room service items, helping with luggage, or offering turndown snacks if requested by the guest.
  • Monitor the supply levels of in-room amenities and toiletries, notifying the housekeeping supervisor when inventory needs replenishing.
  • Assist with maintaining cleanliness and organization of the housekeeping carts, ensuring that they are stocked with necessary supplies.
