About The Position

PAM Health (PAM) is seeking a full-time PM&R Physician to provide professional medical services to patients at assigned hospital(s). The physician will report to the Chief Medical Officer for clinical matters and the Hospital Chief Executive Officer or their designee for administrative matters. This role involves the evaluation, diagnosis, consultation, and management of patients with physical and/or cognitive impairment and disability. Responsibilities include diagnosing and treating patients with painful or functionally limiting conditions, managing co-morbidities, performing diagnostic and therapeutic injection procedures, electro-diagnostic medicine, and emphasizing the prevention of complications of disability. The physician will also assess, stabilize, and determine the disposition of patients with emergent conditions, perform general history and physical examinations, pre-admission assessments, and lead interdisciplinary team conferences. Maintaining accurate medical records in compliance with regulatory standards is also a key responsibility.

Requirements

  • M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Current state medical license (or able to apply).
  • Successful completion of an ACGME or AOA accredited Residency training program in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.

Nice To Haves

  • Current certification or active participation in the examination process leading to certification in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation or the American Osteopathic Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional medical services on a full-time basis to patients of assigned hospital(s).
  • Collaborate with Facility leadership, staff, and other practitioners to develop, implement, and evaluate patient care policies and procedures.
  • Identify, evaluate, and address medical and clinical concerns affecting patient care, medical care, or quality of life.
  • Evaluation, diagnosis, consultation, and management of patients with physical and/or cognitive impairment and disability.
  • Diagnosis and treatment of patients with painful or functionally limiting conditions.
  • Management of co-morbidities and co-impairments.
  • Diagnostic and therapeutic injection procedures.
  • Electro-diagnostic medicine.
  • Emphasis on the prevention of complications of disability from secondary conditions.
  • Assess, stabilize, and determine disposition of patients with emergent conditions.
  • Perform the general history and physical examination.
  • Perform pre-admission assessment.
  • Perform day 4 Plan of Care Review and approve of pre-admission screening.
  • Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Procedure.
  • Performing prompt, courteous and competent professional services.
  • Performance of administrative services may be reasonably required.
  • Responsible for preparation and maintenance of complete and accurate medical and other records in accordance with generally accepted medical practice and in compliance with mandated regulatory, legal and/or accrediting standards.
