About The Position

McLaren Medical Group - Bay Region seeks a locum PM&R physician to provide onsite coverage for its 20-bed inpatient rehabilitation unit during November 23–27 and November 30–December 4. Coverage is Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; weekend coverage is not necessary. The reason for coverage is the regular physiatrist’s vacation. The position provides hospital inpatient rehabilitation coverage only and does not include an outpatient clinic. The patient population is 100% adults, with approximately 10–20 patients on the unit per day. Patients must be seen face to face within 24 hours of admission. The physician will provide onsite coverage, rounding, consultations, face-to-face patient care, and participation in prescheduled team conferences on Monday at 8:30 a.m., Wednesday at 8:30 a.m., and Friday at 11 a.m. These conferences cannot be rescheduled. Required PM&R procedures and documentation include pre-admission screening review and documentation per CMS guidelines, prescribing narcotics, discharge summaries and medication reconciliation, weekly care-plan documentation, post-admission evaluations, face-to-face visits, IPOCS, and PAPE/H&P. The facility has a 24-hour lab and anesthesia department, uses Cerner, and is designated Level III trauma. BLS certification, board certification or board eligibility, and a Michigan state license are required. Travel expenses are subject to the stated $150 cap for car, fuel, mileage, and hotel, as well as McLaren’s Travel & Expense policy. Rental cars must be refueled before return. Med staff fees and lodging taxes are not reimbursed; lodging booked through third-party websites is not permitted.
