About The Position

We are seeking a Plumbing Service Technician to join our service division, working on potable water piping, plumbing fixtures, and drain, waste, gas and vent (DWV) systems in residential and commercial settings. This role is well-suited for technicians who take pride in quality workmanship and bring a strong sense of urgency, responsiveness, and ownership to their work. Techs who are proactive, move with purpose, and understand that quick response, clear communication, and follow-through drive both customer satisfaction and earnings will excel in this position.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the plumbing trade strongly preferred
  • Sales or consultative experience
  • Ability to identify problems, explain options and close work professionally with emphasis on positive customer experience.
  • Driver’s Licenses (non-commercial) – must be state – specific.
  • Background test

  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to diagnose plumbing, drain, and sewer issues accurately
  • Recognizes emergency conditions and takes appropriate action
  • Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision while following company processes

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose Plumbing Issues – Inspect, identify, and troubleshoot leaks, blockages, water pressure problems, and other plumbing system failures
  • Repair & Maintain Plumbing Systems – Perform service and repairs on pipes, faucets, toilets, water heaters, sump pumps, garbage disposals, and related fixtures
  • Install Plumbing Fixtures & Systems – Install sinks, toilets, showers, water heaters, and piping in new and existing residential and commercial buildings
  • Drain Cleaning & Sewer Service – Clear blockages using augers, drain machines, hydro jetters, and drain snakes; assist with sewer line repairs as needed
  • Water Heater Installation & Repair – Install, service, and repair tank and tankless water heaters, ensuring efficiency and code compliance
  • Leak Detection & Pipe Repair – Locate and repair concealed leaks in walls, floors, and underground piping to prevent water damage
  • Preventative Maintenance – Perform routine plumbing maintenance to reduce failures and extend system lifespan
  • Code & Safety Compliance – Ensure all plumbing work meets local plumbing codes, safety regulations, and industry standards
  • Customer Communication & Service – Explain plumbing issues, present repair options, provide estimates, and maintain a professional customer experience
  • Emergency Plumbing Response – Respond to urgent service calls such as burst pipes, major leaks, and sewer backups, including on-call or after-hours work when scheduled
  • Use of Tools & Equipment – Operate plumbing hand tools, power tools, pipe cutters, soldering equipment, drain machines, hydro jetters, and video inspection cameras
  • Documentation & Reporting – Accurately document work performed, materials used, and time spent per job
  • Team Collaboration – Work alongside plumbers, technicians, and apprentices to complete service calls efficiently
  • Vehicle & Tool Maintenance – Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment in clean, stocked, and job-ready condition
  • Customer Education – Advise customers on system care, preventative maintenance, energy-efficient upgrades, and water-saving solutions
