About The Position

Tennessee Standard is seeking an experienced service technician to join their team. Service technicians are the primary point of contact for clients, responsible for diagnosing plumbing issues, presenting various pricing solutions, and either completing minor repairs or referring larger projects to the installation department. The role emphasizes providing a world-class customer experience, ensuring punctuality, accuracy in repairs, and building trust with clients. Technicians are expected to educate clients, offer options tailored to their needs, and prioritize the health, comfort, safety, and convenience of clients' homes or businesses. Maintaining a clean work area post-service and fostering client loyalty through exceptional service are key aspects of the position.

Requirements

  • 3 years of experience in plumbing.
  • 3 years of home service or sales representative experience.
  • Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to build trust and show empathy.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to the company's 4-phase service call process.
  • Perform a thorough system evaluation on every service call, documenting all significant plumbing problems with photos.
  • Conduct a 'bucket blast' to record water pressure at the water heater and assess its age.
  • Provide clients with multiple repair options, supported by photographic evidence, to address their health, comfort, safety, and convenience needs.
  • Follow established communication protocols with customers, dispatch, and the service manager.
  • Maintain a clean and organized service truck and work environment.
  • Ensure the truck is adequately stocked with necessary inventory, marketing materials, and tools.
  • Implement all safety precautions, including using proper safety tools/equipment and practicing safe driving.
  • Follow the company's anti S.L.A.C.K.E.R. process to minimize callbacks and ensure jobs are completed correctly the first time.
  • Properly close out each job with photos, payment, invoice summaries, job prep forms, and purchase orders.
  • Actively participate in company training meetings and skill practice sessions.
