About The Position

The Journeyman or Master Plumber is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and installing residential plumbing systems while delivering an exceptional customer experience. This role combines technical expertise with customer education, helping homeowners make informed decisions about repairs, replacements, and system improvements. This position is open to licensed Journeyman and Master Plumbers who are passionate about delivering exceptional customer service, technical excellence, and complete home solutions. At Cooper, we believe in a consultative, customer-first approach. Our Plumbers utilize the Service MVP process to thoroughly evaluate customer concerns, identify opportunities to improve safety and efficiency, and present complete solutions. This role also requires participation in our emergency on-call rotation and a willingness to embrace technology, including Rilla AI call recording and coaching tools, to improve communication, customer experience, and professional development.

Requirements

  • Colorado Journeyman Plumber License required
  • Minimum 6 years of residential plumbing experience
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
  • Experience with water heaters, tankless systems, sewer and drain systems, water quality products, and residential service plumbing
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to explain technical information in a clear, customer-friendly manner
  • Professional appearance and positive attitude
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work in various weather conditions
  • Comfortable using mobile technology, ServiceTitan, and field service software
  • Willingness to learn and embrace the Service MVP sales and service process
  • Openness to coaching and development through Rilla AI
  • Must pass drug test and background check

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, repair, maintain, and install residential plumbing systems and equipment.
  • Service water heaters, tankless water heaters, fixtures, faucets, toilets, drains, sewer systems, water filtration systems, and gas piping.
  • Perform plumbing inspections and identify code, safety, efficiency, and reliability concerns.
  • Conduct leak detection and troubleshooting for residential plumbing systems.
  • Perform plumbing system replacements and upgrades according to company standards and local codes.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of all findings, repairs, and recommendations.
  • Use industry best practices and diagnostic tools to ensure accurate and efficient service.
  • Greet customers professionally and build rapport through effective communication.
  • Listen actively to customer concerns and accurately summarize issues before providing solutions.
  • Educate customers on system conditions, repair options, and replacement opportunities.
  • Utilize the Service MVP process to perform thorough evaluations and identify opportunities to improve the safety, health, comfort, and efficiency of the home.
  • Present recommendations clearly and confidently while helping customers make informed decisions.
  • Promote Cooper's Green Club Membership (GCM) maintenance plans and membership benefits.
  • Provide exceptional customer experiences that generate referrals, reviews, and long-term customer relationships.
  • Use ServiceTitan and other company software to document jobs, estimates, recommendations, and memberships accurately.
  • Participate in coaching and development using Rilla AI call recording and review tools.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn and apply the Service MVP methodology, including problem stack discovery, customer education, and solution presentation.
  • Participate in ongoing technical and communication training.
  • Follow all company procedures and safety protocols.
  • Comply with all Colorado plumbing codes, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked service vehicle.
  • Complete service tickets and required documentation accurately and on time.
  • Participate in the company on-call rotation, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and represent Cooper Heating & Cooling positively at all times.
