Plumbing Install Lead (Columbus Market)
About The Position
Five Star Home Services is seeking an experienced Plumbing Install Lead to take ownership of residential plumbing installation projects and set the standard for workmanship in the field. This is a hands-on Lead position where you will complete installations alongside your team, taking responsibility for job execution, quality, safety, customer experience, and the development of installers and apprentices. You will lead and perform residential plumbing installations, replacements, and system upgrades, review job scope, install various plumbing systems, direct and work with team members, troubleshoot challenges, ensure installations meet codes and standards, test completed systems, protect the customer's home, communicate professionally with homeowners, document work, identify concerns, and help train team members.
Requirements
- 4+ years of professional plumbing experience
- Strong residential plumbing installation experience
- Ability to independently complete and lead residential plumbing installation projects
- Strong knowledge of residential plumbing systems, installation practices, and applicable plumbing codes
- Ability to read job specifications and determine appropriate installation methods and materials
- Strong troubleshooting and field problem-solving skills
- Ability to lead, coach, and provide direction to less-experienced team members
- Strong customer communication and professionalism
- Commitment to clean, safe, high-quality workmanship
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
- Ability to safely perform the physical requirements of residential plumbing installation work
- Ability to work overtime or weekends when business needs require it

Responsibilities
- Leading and performing residential plumbing installations, replacements, and system upgrades
- Reviewing job scope, equipment, materials, and installation requirements before beginning work
- Installing and replacing water heaters, fixtures, piping, drains, water lines, and other residential plumbing systems
- Directing and working alongside Installers, Apprentices, and Helpers assigned to the project
- Troubleshooting installation challenges and making sound field decisions when conditions change
- Ensuring installations meet applicable plumbing codes, manufacturer specifications, and Five Star quality standards
- Testing completed systems and verifying proper operation before leaving the job
- Protecting the customer's home and maintaining a clean, organized, and professional jobsite
- Communicating professionally with homeowners throughout the installation
- Accurately documenting completed work, materials, and job information
- Identifying concerns or additional needs and communicating them to the appropriate Five Star team
- Helping train and develop less-experienced plumbing team members
