About The Position

SitelogIQ is a rapidly growing company focused on making buildings better. We provide planning, design, and management solutions for organizations that want efficient and sustainable building environments that are healthier and safer for their occupants. As a Plumbing Designer III on the Design team at SitelogIQ, you will work directly with a project team to model building Plumbing systems which meet the design intent, budget, and schedule of the client. You will work under the guidance of more senior engineers/designers to successfully complete construction documents. Some travel will be required within the Midwest region. This travel may include but is not limited to client meetings, site visits, field verifications, and building assessments.

Requirements

  • Associates degree in modeling, design or technology of building systems or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience with design of Plumbing systems.
  • Proficiency with Autodesk Revit modeling software.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Software.
  • Motivated to learn and take on new challenges.
  • Ability to work both independently as well as in a team environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with design of K-12 schools.
  • ASPE Certified Plumbing Designer certification.
  • Experience with design of HVAC systems.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare plumbing and fire protection drawings and specifications based on verbal direction and mark-ups with minimal oversite.
  • Perform all types of calculations required to design systems, including sizing of source equipment and distribution systems. (i.e.: Booster Pumps, Fire Pumps, Water Heating Equipment, Circulator Pumps, Storm/Sanitary Pumps, Grease Interceptors, Oil/Sand Separators, Storm drainage, Sanitary Waste and Vent, Domestic Water, Natural Gas, etc.)
  • Submit plumbing plans for review and respond to comments.
  • Process shop drawings and review submittals.
  • Assist with developing and maintaining standard plumbing and fire protection details.
  • Have a detailed knowledge of equipment from various manufacturers and the ability to make proper selections independently.
  • Coordinate the plumbing and fire protection scope of work and specification development with other building systems.
  • Submit plumbing plans for review and respond to review comments.
  • Keep abreast of new technologies, changes in building codes, and advances in the industry.
  • Work collaboratively in a cross-discipline environment to produce project documents, and ensure integrated design approaches & solutions.
  • Participate in coordination meetings with owners, architects and other consultants.
