About The Position

Perform installations, modifications, maintenance, repairs for the University plumbing system and equipment utilized in buildings, facilities and machinery of the University.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent
3+ years hands-on commercial, industrial and residential plumbing work experience under a licensed master plumber required.
Knowledge of a Maintenance Management Work Order System such as Maximus.
Sound, independent judgement and problem-solving skills.
Good people skills.
Substantial skills in maintenance and repair procedures including preventive maintenance, breakdown repair and trouble shooting.
Ability to work effectively in a service oriented environment subject to frequently changing priorities.
Ability to troubleshoot plumbing systems.
Good communication skills and ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
Must be flexible to work varied schedules/shifts as required.
Ability to lift large, heavy items (up to 50lbs), stand, bend, and stoop for long periods, and climb a ladder.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of University Purchasing System.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings and specifications.
Thorough knowledge of applicable codes and regulations as well as Departmental and University policies, procedures and practices required to carry responsibilities.

Responsibilities

Perform installations, modifications, maintenance, repairs for the University plumbing system and equipment utilized in buildings, facilities and machinery of the University.
Troubleshoot plumbing systems.
Perform duties within the University Vivarium laboratories.
Comply with additional health and vaccination requirements for Vivarium work.
