About The Position

This role involves the installation, maintenance, and repair of various plumbing systems, including chilled water, steam, heat, and gas fixtures. The plumber will also be responsible for inspecting and repairing boilers and furnaces, troubleshooting and replacing plumbing components, and operating heavy equipment for trenching and line repair. Safety is a key aspect of this role, requiring adherence to all safety measures and the use of protective gear.

Requirements

• Experience in installing, maintaining, and repairing chilled water, steam, heat, and gas fixtures.
• Experience in inspecting, maintaining, and repairing hot water and steam boilers and gas furnaces.
• Ability to read gas and safety control valves and meters.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting, repairing, and/or replacing faucets, major and minor water, gas and sewer lines.
• Experience in cleaning, repairing, and/or replacing manholes.
• Skills in installing, maintaining, and repairing thermostats, motors, and belts.
• Ability to inspect boilers for water levels and pressures and perform minor electrical work on boilers.
• Experience in installing filter systems.
• Ability to operate heavy equipment for trenching water, gas, and sewer lines.
• Knowledge of and adherence to all required safety measures and use of protective gear.
• Proficiency in soldering copper lines.

Responsibilities

• Installs, maintains, and repairs chilled water, steam, heat, and gas fixtures.
• Inspects, maintains, and repairs hot water and steam boilers and gas furnaces.
• Reads gas and safety control valves and meters.
• Troubleshoots, repairs, and/or replaces faucets, major and minor water, gas and sewer lines.
• Cleans, repairs, and/or replaces manholes.
• Installs, maintains, and repairs thermostats, motors, and belts.
• Inspects boilers to ensure water levels and pressures are in accordance with standards, and performs minor electrical work on boilers including safety switches, pilot thermocouples, and/or gas regulators.
• Installs filter systems.
• Operates a variety of heavy equipment to trench water, gas, and sewer lines to construct and/or repair lines.
• Follows all required safety measures and uses protective gear as needed to prevent injury to self and others.
• Solders copper lines.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
