About The Position

Plumber is a highly skilled professional who installs, maintains, and repairs plumbing systems in both residential and commercial buildings, often overseeing projects, interpreting complex blueprints, and ensuring compliance with local plumbing codes, while also training and supervising apprentice plumbers; essentially representing the highest level of expertise within the plumbing trade.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Typically requires a journeyman plumber license and passing a state-administered master plumber exam
• Must have three years plumbing experience
• Must be able to read blueprints of plumbing systems.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents, such as technical journals, policy and procedure manuals, maintenance instructions, and other related documents.
• Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to apply commonsense reasoning to a variety of situations.

Nice To Haves

• Welding experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Repairs and replaces all plumbing related devices and/or equipment.
• Maintains fluid systems throughout the corporation.
• Monitors water conservation, repairing leaks as necessary.
• Unclogs sanitary and raw drain systems.
• Maintains insulation of all heated and chilled water piping.
• Routinely inspects all plumbing equipment throughout the corporation identifying potential problems and resolving same.
• Maintains an adequate supply of materials related to plumbing.
• Ensures structural integrity of existing plumbing systems, making recommendations for improvements, as appropriate.
• Installs new plumbing systems as needed; constructs shelves and storage areas; repair walls and ceilings.
• Maintains a working knowledge of plumbing standards and codes that apply to hotel plumbing systems.
• Responsible for maintaining a consistent, regular attendance record.
