Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Valid Florida driver’slicense with no more than six (6) points, at least 21 years of age, and must be insurable under the Orlando Health insurance carrier’s requirements and standards.
  • Three (3) years’ experience as a plumber.
  • One (1) year of experience isrequired if a trade or vocational school graduate.

Responsibilities

  • Repairs, adjusts, or replacesthe entire plumbing systems, including waste-vent water piping, and fixtures and equipment served by these systems in compliance with state plumbing code.
  • Plans, installs and services plumbing systems, fixtures, piping equipment and controls used to transport water, waste or gases.
  • Performs scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on plumbing systems and fixtures. Installs supports and hangers for pipes, fixtures, and equipment. Assembles and installs valves, controls, and fittings.
  • Reviews drawings, plans and specifications to determine system layout for repair or modification.
  • Collaborates with outside utilities and vendors on premises.
  • Responds to emergency calls.
  • Worksindependently from work orders or verbal instructions and prioritizes work based on type and circumstance.
  • Works with inspectors from the water and/or sewer department, fire department and plumbing inspectors.
  • Performs visual inspections to detect abnormal operation and correct deficiencies.
  • Maintains inventory and orders stock.
  • Identifiesrequired tools and special equipment.
  • Installs variousfixturesin new work and remodeling projects.
  • Coordinates shutdown of various plumbing systems as necessary.
  • Supervises trades assigned to help with plumbing projects.
  • Maintainsreasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards.
  • Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
  • Maintains a professional appearance at all times.
  • Participatesin scheduled departmentmeetings.
  • Maintainsthe confidentiality and security of all data and information relating to the facility, medical staff, and patients.
  • EnsuresJoint Commission and other regulatory or licensure requirements are updated andmaintained.
  • Maintains current operational and repair recordsfor all utilities equipmentto include vendor related activities.
  • Promotes and engagesin behavior thatis conducive toOrlando Health’sstandards of behavior.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
