About The Position

ACIS, Inc. is currently hiring for a JOURNEYMAN PLUMBER. We are a growing commercial mechanical services provider in the commercial and industrial HVAC industry with a strong client base in Texas. As a JOURNEYMAN PLUMBER, you understand how to install, repair, troubleshoot, and diagnose plumbing issues as they arise. You will work to troubleshoot and diagnose commercial water heaters and plumbing issues. Working independently, you will also study and follow specifications, building plans, and shop drawings to determine tools and equipment required and the appropriate sequence of installation. Follow hanger spacing and load requirements based on specs and owner requirements. Install and repair plumbing fixtures/appliances such as sinks, toilets, bathtubs, urinals, water heaters, water softeners, etc. Clear and troubleshoot sewer systems that are not flowing properly with company-provided sewer machine and camera equipment. Cut openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and fittings, using hand and power tools. Dig, backfill, and tamp ditches using shovels, heavy equipment, and tampers. Cut, ream, and solder copper tubing/piping. Braze, solvent weld, fuse, groove, and thread pipe using pipe cutters, reamers, torches, solvent cement, fusing machines, press fittings, groove, and pipe-threading machines. Assemble and install valves, pipes, and fittings composed of metals, iron, steel, copper, brass, lead and non-metals, vitrified clay, and plastic using hand tools and power tools. Join pipe using mechanical solder, brazing, and pipe joining methods. Fill pipe systems with water or air and reads gauges to determine system leaks. Complete all job-related paperwork.

Requirements

  • Communicating clearly for customers to understand a problem.

  • 4 + years as a journeyman plumber preferred.
  • High school diploma or equal education credit
  • Experience with electronic work order systems
  • Valid driver’s license

Nice To Haves

  • Boiler experience is not necessary but preferred.
