About The Position

The purpose of this class within the organization is to perform skilled plumbing and maintenance tasks on City owned and/or operated buildings and facilities. This class works under close supervision according to set procedures.

Requirements

  • Requires High School graduation or GED equivalent.
  • Requires two years in plumbing or closely related experience.
  • Plumbing License
  • Driver's License
  • Must have the ability to provide documentation verifying legal work status.
  • Ability to read and speak the English language proficiently in order to communicate and interact with others; to understand and interpret safety instructions; and to respond to internal and external inquiries.
  • Ability to understand and comply with City and departmental guidelines, policies, procedures and expectations.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to perform general maintenance.
  • Have knowledge of and be able to work with different trades such as carpentry, electrical, flooring, doors and locks.
  • Ability to work on and repair sinks, toilets, urinals, hot water tanks, tankless water heaters, drain pipes, water pipes, and more.

Responsibilities

  • Performs general and skilled plumbing work on assigned projects.
  • Performs maintenance at Fire Stations, City Hall, and other City owned and/or operated buildings.
  • Paints; repairs and installs doors and windows; performs electrical work.
  • Sets up and breaks down for special events; attends planning meetings for special events.
  • Ability to perform general maintenance.
  • Have knowledge of and be able to work with different trades such as carpentry, electrical, flooring, doors and locks.
  • Ability to work on and repair sinks, toilets, urinals, hot water tanks, tankless water heaters, drain pipes, water pipes, and more.
  • Performs related work as assigned.
