About The Position

Atlantic Constructors is seeking a motivated, career-minded Plumber Mechanic to join its expanding team. The company has been an industry leader in the Mid-Atlantic Region for over 50 years. The Plumber Mechanic provides guidance and direction to apprentices and helpers while ensuring job quality and customer satisfaction throughout every stage of a project. This role has no supervisory responsibility.

Requirements

Five years of experience in commercial field plumbing operations, or an equivalent combination of vocational training and experience.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
Extensive knowledge of plumbing system installation.
Ability to fabricate offsets, install equipment, and perform basic takeoffs.
Obtain required personal hand tools.
Ability to multitask, work with minimal supervision, follow written and oral instructions, pay attention to detail, and demonstrate problem-solving skills.
Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
Be available and have the means to report to multiple job sites as assigned.
Ability to correctly identify all colors of color-coded cables or wires, with close and distance vision, depth perception, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including lifting up to 50 pounds and working aloft, climbing, bending, pulling, reaching overhead, and standing or walking for long periods.

Nice To Haves

Virginia State Plumbing Journeyman card.
Medical Gas Certification.
Prior military experience.
High school diploma or GED equivalent.

Responsibilities

Assemble, install, lay out, and repair pipes, fittings, equipment, and fixtures.
Test pipes and fixtures using water and air to detect deficiencies.
Measure, cut, thread, glue, solder, braze, and slope pipes made of various materials.
Install hangers and supports for plumbing systems.
Perform other duties as assigned.
