About The Position

Plans, assembles, installs, maintains and repairs plumbing systems as well as steam, compressed air, oxygen, vacuum lines, etc. throughout the hospital complex and adjunct facilities.

Requirements

  • Two years' experience required in Missouri and Illinois
  • Constant standing and walking.
  • Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
  • Frequent reaching, gripping and keyboard use/data entry.
  • Frequent use of vision for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more).
  • Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication.
  • Ability to hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.
  • Occasional bending, stooping, climbing, crawling, kneeling, sitting, squatting, twisting and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.
  • Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
  • Occasional use of vision to judge distances and spatial relationships and to identify and distinguish colors.
  • Rare use of smell to detect/recognize odors.
  • Rare driving.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains existing water, gas, air, steam and other utilities in proper working condition.
  • Completes work orders, and maintains records of time spent on each job.
  • Completes documentation of preventive maintenance and work orders on a daily basis.
  • Uses verbal and written feedback to keep peers and team members informed of progress and problems.
  • Complies with safety policies and regulations and ensures safety practices for patients, staff, and visitors and attends mandatory safety in-services and safety competence assessments.
  • Complies with regulatory, accreditation, hospital and department policies and procedures.
  • Provides support during various codes and/or emergencies.
  • Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
