About The Position

This position is responsible for performing classified and limited plumbing work for district-owned property. The goal is to help maintain the physical school plans in a condition of operating excellence so that full educational use of it may be made at all times.

Requirements

Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners- Journeyman Plumber License, required
High School Diploma or GED, preferred
Clear driving record, required
Valid Texas driver’s Class C license, required
Knowledgeable with the International Plumbing Code Book rules and regulations
Must be able to read architecture and/or engineering plans and specifications
Three (3) years of experience in related field, required

Responsibilities

Repair and maintain all plumbing equipment and plumbing services.
Inspect and repair lawn sprinkler systems district-wide.
Perform all tasks in accordance with all regulatory agency requirements.
Observe functioning of installed equipment or systems to detect hazards and need for adjustments, relocation or replacement.
Comply with safety and hazardous laws and regulations in the performance of his/her job.
Assist in examining school district facilities on a regular basis for the purpose of preventative maintenance.
Attend meetings and trainings as required or directed by supervisors.
Attend trainings as required to maintain Journeyman status.
Follow McAllen ISD customer service standards.
Perform other duties assigned by immediate supervisor (primary evaluator).
