About The Position

The City and County of Denver (CCD) is seeking a Plumber II to join the Denver Arts & Venues team. This agency operates a special revenue fund by generating revenue through the operation of event and entertainment venues and invests that revenue in venue improvements and maintenance, arts programs, community grants, and cultural amenities. The Plumber II will perform preventative maintenance, maintenance, and repair work on all plumbing systems and fixtures in accordance with agency or department standards and code requirements. This role involves installing or altering new or upgraded plumbing systems and fixtures for construction, tenant finishing, or remodeling, and responding to plumbing service or trouble calls, troubleshooting, and providing problem resolution. The position also includes inspecting, maintaining, and repairing various types of fire protection systems, and maintaining, testing, and installing devices for the prevention of backflow, back siphonage, or cross connection. The Plumber II will also prepare working sketches, work from blueprints, written, or verbal instructions, maintain records, prepare daily activity reports, and estimate materials, labor, and equipment costs. The role requires the ability to work independently and as a team.

Requirements

  • Graduation from high school or the possession of a GED, HiSET or TASC Certificate.
  • Two (2) years of experience as a journey level plumber.
  • Requires a valid Journey Plumber's License issued by the State of Colorado at the time of application.
  • Licensure in another state with reciprocity may be accepted in lieu of this requirement, provided that the applicant has Colorado licensure at completion of probation.
  • Licenses and certifications must be kept current as a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Reads and interprets blueprints to assess or plan plumbing installations and layouts
  • Performs preventative maintenance, maintenance and repair work on all plumbing systems and fixtures in accordance to agency or department standards and code requirements
  • Installs or alters new or upgraded plumbing systems and fixtures for the purpose of construction, tenant finishing or remodeling according to diagram specifications and code requirements
  • Responds to plumbing service or trouble calls, troubleshoots and provides problem resolution
