About The Position

The University of Nevada, Reno (UNR) is recruiting for a Plumber 1 for Residential Life-Housing Facilities Operations. This position is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and installation of all plumbing-related equipment and systems within the 9 resident's halls, food service area, and the Ponderosa Village. This position does not provide layoff rights and is contingent upon funding.

Requirements

• Completion of a recognized plumbing apprenticeship program; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must submit to a pre-employment screening for controlled substances.
• A valid Class “C” Nevada driver’s license or higher operator’s license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
• Experience as a service plumber.

Nice To Haves

• Plumbing systems experience in large commercial buildings.

Responsibilities

• Supervising contracted employees, outlining schedules, duties, and inspecting all work.
• Developing and implementing a preventative maintenance plan.
• Coordinating special projects and related external contractors.
• Providing input on upgrades.
• Other duties as assigned.
