About The Position

The PLT Plant 1 Curing Scrap Chaser is responsible for monitoring non-conformities within the department, making necessary adjustments, and communicating with the Tire room regarding any non-conforming materials that require quarantine. This role involves following up on uniformity topics, flash audits, and communicating any adjustments made. The Scrap Chaser must also be proficient in mold and bladder changes, recipe installation, bladder maintenance, and data input. Additionally, they will perform minor mechanical adjustments and emergency repairs, conduct loader quick checks, squeeze audits, cure cycle audits, and cure temperature audits. The position requires adherence to all plant policies, environmental policies, and safety regulations, including operating a forklift. Effective communication with various departments and personnel is essential. The Scrap Chaser will follow standard practices to ensure quality and quantity production, maintain a clean work area, and perform other duties as directed by supervision. Ensuring implementation and monitoring of all ESH procedures, policies, and legal requirements is also a key responsibility. This role may be updated as needed and is not necessarily inclusive of all work required.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED and 1 year Continental Manufacturing experience or 2 years mechanical experience.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required.
  • No relocation assistance is offered for this position.

  • Previous manufacturing experience or Associates Degree.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor all non-conformities throughout the department and make adjustments as needed.
  • Stay in communication with the Tire room of any non-conforming materials that will need quarantined.
  • Monitor and follow up with uniformity topics as needed and communicate back any adjustments that were performed.
  • Monitor and Follow-up with Flash Audits and communicate back any adjustments that were performed.
  • Make mold and bladder changes, install recipes, build and tear down bladders, and maintain data input.
  • Make minor mechanical adjustments and emergency repairs.
  • Perform loader quick checks, squeeze audits, cure cycle audits, and cure temperature audits.
  • Follow all plant policies, environmental policies and plant and departmental safety policies.
  • Be certified to operate a Fork Lift through the Safety Department.
  • Effectively communicate with other set up techs, curing supervision, curing press operators, supplying departments, quality assurance, process engineering, and final finish.
  • Follow standard practices and perform all work necessary to promptly and accurately obtain quality and quantity production.
  • Keep work areas neat, clean, and aligned and orderly.
  • Perform other duties as directed by the PLT Curing Supervisor, Lead Supervisor, or Department Manager.
  • Ensure all ESH procedures, policies and legal requirements are implemented and monitored.
