About The Position

The primary function of this position is to provide maintenance, configuration, and administration support for the sites’ control systems, including PLCs, HMIs, trending systems, drives, and instrumentation. This includes utilizing these systems to troubleshoot, repair, and improve the facilities’ production processes.

Requirements

  • Minimum of an associate degree in a technical field or 5 years comparable experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment in a position of similar duties.
  • Working knowledge of PLC’s, preferably Allen Bradley including ladder logic.
  • Working knowledge of DC drives, AC drives, servos, and stepper motors/controls.
  • Working knowledge of instrumentation/controls such as load cells, level sensors, pressure transducers, thermocouples.
  • Thorough understanding of control loops, including PID control scenarios.
  • Drawing, redlining, and blueprint reading skills.
  • Computer literacy for word processing and other business applications.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills, including both verbal and writing communications.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team, including sharing thoughts, receiving input from others, and working with others.

Nice To Haves

  • Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs., climb ladders, operate variety of hand tools, and operate a forklift.
  • Must be able to work either individually or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, revise, and configure PLC ladder logic, HMI displays, I/O configuration, and process data trending systems.
  • Utilize PLC ladder logic and trending systems to assist in troubleshooting of production processes.
  • Assist in identifying and root cause analysis of equipment failures and process upsets.
  • Troubleshoot and configure DC and AC drives.
  • Troubleshoot, revise, and configure process instrumentation, including but not limited to load cells and level sensors. Assist with specification of these same items.
  • As part of the MOC program, provide training to Operations and Maintenance personnel on changes to control systems and interfaces and on how these changes may affect process control.
  • Work with schematics and blueprints to troubleshoot systems.
  • Work with operators, engineers, and management to identify and implement process improvements.
  • Support engineering projects including trials and installation.
  • Perform electrical wiring (pulling, terminating, labeling), including field wiring.
  • Design and build necessary parts and electrical panels.
  • Work with contractors and vendors as needed.
  • Respond to building and process emergencies.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance according to scheduled shutdowns.
  • Participate in daily maintenance crossover meetings to prioritize and assign work.
  • Maintain good housekeeping in maintenance department and after completing jobs.
  • Maintain responsibility for working in a safe manner and following all HS&E regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Perform other Maintenance tasks as needed, including both electrical and mechanical.
