The PLC support technician is responsible for wiring, testing and diagnosing PLCs of the iSMART hardware/equipment remotely. They will also be expected to provide field service support in the installation of panels by working on customer sites or providing remote support. Practical field work experience is essential to gaining an understanding of our hardware and equipment. In addition, they will be receiving incoming support requests and reviewing internal requests to proactively troubleshoot equipment issues and report to the Hardware Engineer. The medium-term plan for the PLC technician is primarily to provide remote/over-the-phone support to contractors and technicians in the field. Effective communication is integral to providing technical support over the phone.
