About The Position

We are seeking a skilled PLC Technician with extensive experience in troubleshooting, interpreting, modifying, and programming PLCs, particularly Allen Bradley PLCs. The role involves working with control logic and ladder logic for automation systems, as well as drawing and designing PLC and electrical circuits. You will be responsible for troubleshooting, designing, upgrading, and installing electrical equipment, circuits, and systems to improve equipment reliability and uptime. This includes researching and procuring necessary supplies, performing and documenting work orders and preventative maintenance tasks, and maintaining accurate records such as maintenance logs, manuals, drawings, and PM logs. This is a night shift position (7pm-7am) with a shift premium.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Extensive experience in troubleshooting, interpreting, modifying, and programming PLCs.
  • Proficient in working with Allen Bradley PLCs.
  • Experience using control logic and ladder logic for automation systems.
  • Ability to draw and design PLC and electrical circuits.
  • Troubleshoot, design, upgrade, and install electrical equipment, circuits, and systems.
  • Improves equipment reliability and uptime through effective maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Research and procure necessary supplies, parts, and machines to complete work orders.
  • Performs and documents work orders and preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Maintains accurate records, including maintenance logs, manuals, drawings, and preventative maintenance (PM) logs.
  • Basic understanding of electrical systems and components such as motors, VFDs, sensors, relays, and control panels.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, diagrams, and technical manuals.
  • Strong troubleshooting aptitude with a willingness to learn and develop technical skills.

  • Heavy Industrial Maintenance experience.
  • 2+ to 5 years experience.
  • Experience with voltages up to 480 V.
  • Experience with 3-phase 480 motors.
  • Comfortable using amp/volt meters.
  • Experience with working on equipment that were hydraulic and pneumatic driven.
  • Experience with VFDs.
  • Comfortable using schematics.
  • Able to read and understand the logic, make edits, and troubleshoot PLCs.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree, technical certificate, or recent completion of a trade school program in Industrial Automation, electrical Technology, Mechatronics, or a related field, preferred.
  • Relevant internship, co-op, academic projects, or hands-on lab experience will be considered.
  • Exposure to PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), including troubleshooting or programming through coursework, labs, or work experience, preferred (Allen Bradley a plus).
  • Familiarity with control logic, ladder logic, or industrial automation concepts.
  • Prefer 3 years' of experience.
