About The Position

A rapidly growing food manufacturing company is seeking a PLC Programmer Supervisor to lead automation, controls, and continuous improvement initiatives within a highly automated production environment. This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for a technically strong professional who enjoys working closely with operations and maintenance teams to drive plant performance, equipment reliability, and production efficiency. The PLC Programmer Supervisor will oversee PLC programming, troubleshooting, system integration, and automation support across manufacturing operations. This role will play a key part in maintaining equipment uptime, supporting capital projects, improving process efficiency, and implementing new automation technologies throughout the facility. Candidates must be comfortable working an overnight production schedule, including weekends.

Requirements

  • Strong PLC programming and troubleshooting experience with Allen-Bradley and/or Siemens platforms
  • Experience with HMI/SCADA systems, industrial networking protocols, and automated manufacturing equipment
  • Proven leadership experience within a manufacturing or industrial automation setting
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment
  • Comfortable working an overnight production schedule, including weekends

Nice To Haves

  • Background within food manufacturing, beverage, dairy, packaging, or other regulated industrial environments strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Lead PLC programming, troubleshooting, and controls support for manufacturing equipment and production systems
  • Support and optimize automated processing and packaging operations
  • Troubleshoot electrical, controls, and automation issues to minimize downtime and improve operational performance
  • Partner closely with engineering, maintenance, and operations teams on continuous improvement initiatives and new equipment integration
  • Supervise, mentor, and support maintenance and controls personnel within the facility
  • Assist with system upgrades, automation projects, and process improvements across the plant
  • Maintain and support HMI/SCADA systems and industrial communication networks
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards within a regulated manufacturing environment
