About The Position

SJE is hiring a PLC/HMI Programmer to support its Altronex brand at its on-site location in Madison, Wisconsin. Altronex provides control solutions for the municipal water and wastewater industries, including custom-engineered control panels, SCADA and telemetry systems, control panel fabrication, systems integration, and field services support.

The primary role is to develop PLC code and HMI graphics for control systems that manage the movement of water and wastewater. Projects include programming new panels and motor control centers (MCCs) being manufactured in-house, as well as making custom modifications to control systems already in operation. The programmer uses Microsoft Excel to organize programming functions. Work is mostly independent, with team support and collaboration available as needed. This is an on-site position, not hybrid or remote.

Requirements

• Experience programming Allen-Bradley PLCs and HMIs.
• Comfort with CompactLogix, MicroLogix, and some ControlLogix.
• Experience with PanelView, Maple, Automation Direct, and Wonderware HMI programs.
• Ability to work as a self-starter.
• Excellent time-management and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• A two-year degree in Automation Technology or an equivalent degree.
• Five or more years of experience.
