About The Position

We are seeking a highly skilled PLC Technician with 5+ years of PLC programming, AC/DC motor control, hydraulic system control, and industrial automation experience. This role supports advanced DC motor controls and hydraulic control systems across a wide range of large high‑energy forging equipment, forge furnaces, and other production machinery.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in hydraulic equipment automation, PLC programming, and electrical/hydraulic troubleshooting.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1st shift position, with overtime as needed.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with maintenance, engineering, and operations teams.
  • Proven ability to maintain accurate documentation and a clean, organized workstation.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical certifications or trade school training preferred.
  • Strong hands‑on experience with:
  • Experience with forklifts, scissor lifts, and boom lifts is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Support equipment uptime and quick return‑to‑service by responding to equipment breakdowns and assisting maintenance teams with troubleshooting forging equipment.
  • Serve as the on‑site subject matter expert for PLC controls and power distribution systems.
  • Program, modify, and optimize industrial control systems, including: Troubleshoot and develop ladder logic, structured text, and function block programs to support safe and efficient equipment operation.
  • Document program changes, maintain revision control, and ensure regular system backups.
  • Repair, maintain, and install industrial electrical systems, including: Troubleshoot complex electrical and automation issues using: Hydraulic Controls & Systems Troubleshoot, program, and maintain Oilgear and Rexroth hydraulic control systems, including: Diagnose mechanical and electro‑hydraulic issues using PLC trending, oscillograms, and real‑time monitoring tools.
  • Work collaboratively with maintenance and engineering teams to ensure hydraulic system reliability and performance.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on forging equipment and automated systems related to PLC and electrical controls.
  • Recommend improvements to enhance equipment uptime, reliability, and operational safety.
  • Support root‑cause analysis investigations for recurring electrical, hydraulic, or automation failures.
  • Follow NEC regulations for electrical systems ranging from 24V to 4160V.
  • Adhere to all facility safety programs and requirements, including: Maintain clean, organized work areas and ensure proper documentation in compliance with PCC standards.
